Q. How do light, dark, and auto schemes work?

Under Customize → Theme colors → Color scheme you choose the site default: Light, Dark, or Auto, which follows each visitor’s OS setting.

Your accent color works in both schemes — the theme re-derives its shades so everything stays readable when the background flips.
