Q. My view counts aren’t going up

Almost always this is the first item below — FAQtory ignores you on purpose.

• You’re logged in. Views from editors and administrators aren’t counted, so your own browsing never inflates the numbers. Open a question in a private/incognito window to test.
• You reloaded. The same visitor reading the same question again within an hour counts once.
• Counting is switched off under Appearance → Customize → Page views.
• Only questions count. Views are recorded on single question pages, not on the front page, category pages, or search results.

Full-page caching plugins are fine — counting happens after the page loads, so cached pages are still counted.
